Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information AI GIF Maker collects when you use https://aigifmaker.ai to make GIFs, how it is used and protected, and what you can ask us to do with it.

Who controls your data

The data controller is the operator of AI GIF Maker, an independent service at https://aigifmaker.ai. For any privacy question, data request or complaint, write to support@aigifmaker.ai and a person answers. A data protection officer is not applicable to a service of this size.

Information you give us

Your email address and a hashed password when you create an account, the text prompts you type to make GIFs, and any messages you send to support. Sign-in is by email and password.

Information we collect automatically

Your generation history (each prompt, its status and the resulting GIF), your GIF balance and purchase history, the IP address and browser type recorded with your sign-in sessions and at sign-up to stop mass account creation, and server logs used for security and debugging.

The free tools never upload your files

The GIF compressor, GIF resizer, GIF to MP4, video to GIF and add text to GIF tools run entirely in your browser. The GIFs and videos you open in them are processed on your own device and are never uploaded to our servers, so we never see or store them.

How we use information

We use your information to make your GIFs, keep your GIF balance and purchase history, process payments, block prohibited content, prevent abuse, answer support messages and meet our legal duties. Our legal bases are performing our contract with you (making your GIFs and running your account), our legitimate interest in keeping the service secure and free of abuse, and legal obligation for tax and accounting records.

Payments

Payments are processed by Waffo Pancake, our payment provider and merchant of record. Your card number, expiry date and security code are entered on the Waffo Pancake checkout page and are never stored on AI GIF Maker's servers. We only receive the outcome of the payment and a reference for your purchase history.

Prompt safety checks

Before a GIF is made, the prompt you typed is checked by our own safety screen and sent to Waffo Pancake's content safety scan, which tells us whether the request is allowed. Only the prompt text is sent for this check.

We do not sell your personal information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with anyone for their own advertising or marketing.

Service providers

We share the minimum information each provider needs to run the service. Waffo Pancake handles payments, acts as merchant of record and runs the prompt safety scan (privacy policy at https://waffo.ai). Cloudflare hosts the site, stores account data in Cloudflare D1 and generated GIFs in Cloudflare R2, and provides DNS, CDN and our account email (privacy policy at https://www.cloudflare.com/privacypolicy/). The provider that serves OpenAI's GPT Image 2.6 model, which generates each GIF, receives your prompt for that GIF. AI GIF Maker does not use your prompts or GIFs to train AI models.

Generated GIFs and their links

Each GIF you make is stored in Cloudflare R2 at its own public link, so you can download it and share it anywhere. The link is not listed anywhere on the site, but anyone who has it can open the GIF. Keep private information out of your prompts.

Analytics and cookies

Site statistics run on Rybbit, a cookie-free analytics tool that we host ourselves, so this traffic data is not shared with an outside analytics company. It records pages viewed, the referring page, browser and device type and country. The only cookies we set keep your session working, signed in or as a guest; there are no advertising or tracking cookies.

International transfers

AI GIF Maker and its providers operate globally, so your information may be processed outside your country, including in the United States. Where data leaves the EEA or the UK, transfers rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or an equivalent approved safeguard put in place by the provider.

How long we keep data

Account information is kept while your account is open and permanently removed within 30 days after you delete the account; we keep only a one-way hash of your email so a deleted account cannot claim the free sign-up GIFs again. Your prompts and generated GIFs are kept while your account is open so your history stays available, and are deleted within 30 days of account deletion; email us a GIF's link and we delete that GIF sooner. GIFs made without an account stay at their link until you email us that link and ask for deletion. Billing and transaction records are kept for 7 years, as tax and accounting law requires, and no longer carry your name or email once your account is deleted. Support emails are kept while your account is open and deleted with it or when you ask.

Your rights

Wherever you live, you can ask us to give you access to the personal data we hold about you and a copy of it in a machine-readable format, correct data that is wrong, delete your account and data, restrict or object to processing, and withdraw consent at any time. To delete your account yourself, go to Settings → Security → Delete Account: the account is closed at once and permanently deleted after 30 days, and until then you can email us to restore it. For every other request, write to support@aigifmaker.ai and we respond within 30 days. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

Emails we send

We only send the emails your account needs: sign-up verification, password resets and messages about your purchases. We do not send marketing email, so there is nothing to opt out of, and these account emails stop when you delete your account.

Security

We use encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS), encryption at rest for stored data and files, access controls, and least-privilege credentials to protect your information. If a breach affects your personal data, we will notify you and, where required, the relevant supervisory authority within 72 hours of becoming aware of it.

Children

AI GIF Maker is not intended for anyone under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16. If you believe a child has given us personal data, write to support@aigifmaker.ai and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the service changes. Material changes will be posted on this page with a new Last updated date at least 15 days before they take effect.
